Rocky Mountain Reparatory Theatre
RMRT is quite an impressive operation, and a very entertaining one at that. Every spring, about 2,500 young actors around the age of twenty audition to be selected as one of the 15 cast members. Rehearsals start in May and within weeks, they are alternating between three productions, on a nightly basis. Costumes, sets and talent are all sure to impress.

Winter Carnival
Just when you thought Super Bowl weekend couldn’t be more fun. The annual Winter Carnival raises money for charitable causes and brings locals out from the woodwork (cabins in many cases) to partake in festive events such as bed sled races, human bowling, snow sculptures, and a noteworthy firework display. All is done in relation to the year’s theme (such as Alice in Winterland) and promises great people watching. Costumes are optional.

Places To Go. People To See.
Grand Lake is a small town with big personality. In addition to annual events, there are often festivals and fairs that just might strike your fancy. For a complete listing of upcoming events, check the Grand Lake Chamber of Commerce Event Calendar.

Once home to Native American Ute, Arapaho and Cheyenne tribes, the Grand Lake area has been attracting people to its beautiful setting along the banks of Colorado's deepest and largest natural lake, and has been a great hunting and fishing region for thousands of years. The Town of Grand Lake was established in 1867 by silver prospectors seeking fortunes and gutsy hunting guides who welcomed and charmed visiting adventure seekers. As access to the region improved, more and more people traveled to Grand Lake to enjoy its natural beauty and nearby sulfur springs. In September 1929, the National Park Service started construction of Trail Ridge Road (U.S. Highway 34) through Rocky Mountain National Park, connecting Estes Park to Grand Lake. When completed in 1983, Trail Ridge Road provided local residents and summer time tourists the opportunity to experience one of the most breathtaking and beautiful drives in America - up and over Rocky Mountain National Park. For safety purposes, Trail Ridge Road is closed for the winter after the first heavy snow fall.
