WINTER ADVENTURES

Snowmobiling

Enjoy a smooth, but speedy ride along more than 100 miles of trails. After all, Grand Lake is the Snowmobiling Capital of Colorado! Guided tours are available and easily arranged. No prior experience is necessary, but some trails are better left for immediate to experienced riders.

Skiing

Ski Granby Ranch and Winter Park Resort are two fantastic places to hit the slopes. Ski Granby Ranch is only 20 minutes south and is best known for being family friendly with free night skiing and free lift passes for the wee ones. Lift tickets are very affordable and slopes are usually not too crowded. Winter Park Resort is a little further away, but as the oldest continually operated ski resort in Colorado, is very much worth the added 20 minute drive! Snow conditions are ideal and slopes offer a wide variety skill levels.

Cross Country Skiing

All the beauty of downhill skiing, but without the help of gravity. Cross Country Skiing is known to be an excellent exercise, so go ahead and enjoy another CCA Cabin Cookie. Grand Lake has a wonderful Nordic Center to outfit anyone wanting to give this Olympic favorite a shot- even your four legged friend.

Ice Fishing

With three lakes nearby, ice fishing is a big deal when winter freezes over. Grand County hosts three ice fishing tournaments every year between January and March. However, if your eye is not on the prize, but just the experience, we can arrange a guided ice fishing adventure that will make your gas log fireplace greatly appreciated at the end of a fun day!
